Following graduation ceremonies in May, several members of the Great River Tigers wrote notes of congratulations to graduating Missouri students from the area. This helped the association meet celebrating a Mizzou Tradition.

GRT Board Meets May 9th
On May 9, 2019 the Great River Tigers Alumni Association met in Quincy, Illinois at the Patio. Morgan Kopitsky from the Alumni Association was present.
The following happened at the meeting::
- The scholarship committee reported that they had chosen 4 incoming freshman and 3 returning students for merit scholarships.
- Members of the board volunteered to write congratulatory notes to graduating seniors.
- Plans were made for July 26th student summer send off. Fundraising, scholarships, and a speaker were discussed.
Summer Event Fund Raiser
Before our Summer event at the end of July, our association collects donations to help pay for the event and the scholarships that we give out that night. Many of our board members and our new volunteer leader, Jennifer Wood, were involved in asking individuals and businesses to sponsor the event.

Golden Eagle Distributors Receives Local Award
The Great River Tigers presented an award to Golden Eagle Distributors on July 21, 2018 at Jackson Park Golf Course in Palmyra, Mo during their Summer Send Off event. For the last six years, Golden Eagle has generously donated beer to this event. Mike Tower was present to accept the award. Mike always helps Ken Disselhorst with the cooking and has attended and supported us every year of the event.

Leaders Weekend
Sarah Bockhold and Al Kennett attended the Leaders Weekend September 20-22, 2018 in Columbia, Missouri. The guest speaker was Coach Barry Odom who inspired everyone for the Georgia game on Saturday.. Sarah and Al had the opportunity to mingle with other chapter leaders, brainstorm ideas as to how to increase alumni engagement and membership, as well as, learn of the other activities chapters across the country are doing. They completed the Clifton Strengths Assessment which allowed them to better understand our own strengths and hopefully leverage engagement with people whose strengths are different.

GRT Board Meets August 28, 2018
On August 28, 2018, the Great River Tigers board members met at the Patio in Quincy, Illinois. The following items were discussed:
- Sarah Bockhold and Al Kennett will attend the Leadership Conference in Columbia, Mo in September
- A football watch party on November 3 was discussed
- Summer Send Off for next year was discussed and a tentative date set for July 20th
- A vote was taken to retain current officers for this coming year.
